Taking Love Global

Matt and Bria Grudzielanek were married on September 2nd, 2011. What was special about their wedding is that the couple decided to take the celebration of their love global by adding Food For His Children to their wedding gift registry. Guests were encouraged to make a donation to FFHC instead of purchasing a gift for them.

How did this all come about? Bria heard about FFHC and the work we do through a friend. She
and her then fiance both had an interest in helping the poor. "Seeing that FFHC helps people to truly move forward and become self-sustaining and does it through showing the love of Christ drew us both to this organization," she said.

Both had been active in missions work individually. Matt had been active with a number of mission organizations including Habitat For Humanity, AWOL (A work of Love) which is a men’s construction ministry, and medical missions to Cambodia. Bria had done local missions in the US helping to rebuild a school in Chicago and houses in Key West, Florida. Together the couple went to Uganda with H2O as a water ministry and work with a missionary in doing construction and evangelism work in Mexico.

As the couple began planning their wedding they realized they already had much of what they needed to have a functioning home together. Giving gifts to others also made sense because they may end up being in the mission field, possibly long term, and didn't want to have a lot of things to store. Some of their guests were surprised by the rather unusual suggestion of donating a goat in honor of their wedding but the idea was met with a lot of support as well. They say the idea was "a great start for us to continue our individual giving as a couple, which we both believe is God’s calling for us."

Perhaps God is calling you to take your love global! Consider including FFHC! Please visit our webpage http://www.foodforhischildren.org/ for exciting opportunities.
