A message we received recently from Tanzania on Food For His Children's impact
- Pastor Kessy is on the left, with founder Kerrie Holschbach.
I greet you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am Pastor Calvin Kessy of Basodawish Lutheran parish in Karatu Tanzania. I am also among the FFHC Chakula Kwa Watoto Wake program committee members here in Tanzania. I thank God Almighty for this project which has touched our society in a broad way. The poor, widows and orphans, as well as poor older people have received the love of God through FFHC. The community of Basodawish as well as all the villages where the project is now conducted are so happy in our poor and very dry area of Karatu. They are happy because there is something which can help them to meet their needs.
The goat projects FFHC have contributed many changes to our community. Some of the success are as follows.
1.The project is a community based project where all people who are Christians of different denominations and non-Christians are meeting together and we are friends.
2. Some of the non-Christians and their families have received the Gospel and prayers when visiting them and many of the children from those families are Christians. Karatu still has people who have faith in local beliefs, through FFHC we have been asking God to reach them with Gospel and we have seen Him working on that.
3. Now the life of some of the beneficiaries have started to change, their children are getting milk, if sold they get some money for social needs.
4. The rapid birth of goats showed, as soon some will start to sell offspring and great changes will be seen.
5. Through FFHC the people have started to do their agriculture scientifically as they cultivate and plant their fields according to the knowledge they received from our trainers.
6. The Love of God helps us to get together several times and created a good friendship among us all and that is what Jesus want from us stay united.
7. Through FFHC the poor families received help such as seeds, food clothes etc. Many people in our country are extremely poor, living under one dollar per day. They have seen God through this project.
8. Another group which God has reached them through FFHC is that of abandoned families children and women.
We believe soon the lives of many in our community are going to change totally, especially for the poor families and those widows and orphans who will be able to send heir children to school, build nice houses. Through the project the church is going to expand and spread to all our district as many non-Christians are now beginning to understand that God is Love. God is doing His work by showing the changes in our community. I hope that through FFHC the Kingdom of God will reach many families.
May God bless you all as you are praying and working for the spread of the Kingdom of God to all people in all nations and of all languages.
Rev. Calvin
